Just recently my husband & I have been taking our girls to the library. Before we went we assumed it would be the worst experience ever, yes even worse than a breakdown in the grocery store. Being that libraries are one of the most quiet places to be, it is obviously no place for a 1.5 & 8 month old! But we were SO wrong, & that makes me extremely happy 😊
Our first visit went great. There was an entire section of blocks, magnets, & other sensory toys for kids. So my husband immediately took the girls to the play section & I rushed off to find some books, thinking the "fun playtime" would wear off quickly. I never got one text or call from my husband in panic mode that the girls were acting up! So I took my time & grabbed a few children's books & of course a novel for the mama, me!!! 😊
I hurried my way through the countless isles upon isles of books to find my little 8 month old smiling & knawing away on blocks, & my sweet eldest daughter running around trying to read as many little books as she can. It was overwhelmingly precious!!
I am now so thrilled that the library, of all places, is one of our favorite hang out spots! So don't be too nervous to take your kids, because it just might turn out to be one of your favorite hobbies!!!!
Tips for Library visits:
Go right after your children have been fed & well rested.
Bring a small snack so they're tummies don't ruin the time for them!
Find a library with a children's story time.
Don't forget those pacifiers 😀
Try not to go alone your first time, may be quite overwhelming.
Grab all your check out books first, so if you have to run out for an emergency, you don't leave empty handed!
Try & join a reward program for the kids for reading daily, so when they go back to the library they get a prize (something to look forward too!)
